Wales eAccessibility Forum Terms of Reference
The Wales e-Accessibility Forum is a group of representatives from organisations who support disabled people. The purpose of the Forum is to find ways to support disabled people to take advantage of the benefits of digital technology and the internet.
The Forum will work together to:
- Map the resources available to disabled people to access the internet – and to provide a clear and accessible means of signposting these to those who need them;
- Plan ways to share eAccessibility skills and knowledge, including the appropriate assessment of individual needs, through professional development throughout the sector in Wales;
- Campaign and lobby for better accessibility online and offline; influence new initiatives before they commence.
The founding organisations of the Forum are:
Disability Wales (chair)
Leonard Cheshire Disability
Ataxia South Wales
The Stroke Association
Digital Accessibility Centre
JISC Tech Dis
The Forum welcomes members from all individuals and organisations with an interest in e-Accessibility.
The Wales e-Accessibility Forum is supported by Communities 2.0, the Welsh Government’s digital inclusion project. C2.0 provides facilitation and administrative support for the Forum both on and offline, sharing any outcomes and professional development with its delivery teams across Wales.
